Seth & Jennita

Seth & Jennita's request for us to shoot their engagement photos pushed Sterling over the edge. He ordered a camera for me. A new one, a very beautiful, smart one. I fell in love with it at once. And I moved to a new realm, one not hampered by the boundaries of what computer editing could do for my pictures.
Armed with this new camera and only a basic working knowledge of it (-per helpful, corny handbook mentioned before-), we set out for Fort Smith to try out some bigger city stuff. It was a perfect Saturday for a photoshoot - one of those crisp blue fall days that make you feel like being outside the.entire.day and soaking up the gorgeousness of the year in retreat.

Compliments of the adorable little chalkboards go to my sister-in-law, Bekah Kimberlin.

We started at the park on Garrison, but quickly moved on...

Thanks, Sterling, for introducing us to this slightly spooky alcove!

I love this shot, them laughing together so comfortably.

We had to wait our turn for this wall of graffiti. Apparently other photographers thought it was a prime afternoon to be out, because we kept turning corners and glimpsing another set. I saw at least 3 other groups doing what we were doing.

I thought this random iron fence-let was lovely. Which, by the way, it framed a set of crumbling steps leading down under the afore-mentioned alcove.

Trying my hand at a bigger-city look ...and not getting the results I desired. :( We could blame that on the person behind the camera, or we could blame that on our options for cities; I prefer the latter. ;)

From downtown we moved to a bed & breakfast.

This chess set was a gift from Jennita to Seth during their courtship. It turns out kinda neat that we used it in these pictures, as it was stolen when someone broke in and pilfered through their house-to-be a few weeks before the wedding.

Look at the way he looks at her, guys! Isn't that so sweet?

Seth proposed with a single, long-stemmed red rose.

     I...kinda don't think I'd mind a picture like this of us. :)

I looked across the street from the bed & breakfast just in time to see this lovely section of woods. The setting sun was laying across it with rich, golden light. But the sun was setting too rapidly, so til we reached it, the light was almost all gone. I tried for a few poses anyway, mainly for experimental reasons.
